About
Named for a man with an oxgoad.
Shamgar Digital LLC is an independent software company in Texas. We build and run tools for close study of scripture and history, and we keep them plain, fast and carefully made.
And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, which slew of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox goad: and he also delivered Israel.
Judges 3:31, King James Version
An oxgoad was a farmer’s tool: a long wooden staff with an iron point, for driving oxen at the plough. In Shamgar’s hands it was enough. We take that as our pattern: simple, sharp tools, used well, for people who read closely and want to go further.
How we work
Three commitments
Built for depth
Tools for scholars, pastors and serious students: people who read closely and want to go further.
Made to last
Plain, fast, carefully kept software that should still work in ten years, without chasing fashions.
